Welcome to the first issue of: Seeds Of Faith February 17, 2008 I wanted to start my first issue with a bit of controversy but at the last moment I changed my mind. After I thought about it, it didn’t seem to be the right thing to do. However, that does not mean that I will not include these subjects in future issues. Everybody can expect to be pushed a little from time to time because I intend to shake the tree enough for people to openly accept spiritualism as a real religion and not some kind of demonic circus show as some say we are. I want those people who refuse to believe that the spirit of a person does not die with the “suit of meat” as they call it. Education and Exposure is the main purpose of these writings. I will encourage everyone to get on my email list to receive notification every time it is published. And feel free to forward this site to your friends family and neighbors as we need more believers in this world. What is this thing called spiritualism anyway? You know people are funny, they bad mouth spiritualist but yet, most believe in God. How ironic is that? Most of the people I know have had readings by very talented mediums and have had things revealed to them that only they knew and still, they refuse to admit that there is a continuum after death. Many of my friends know that I am a medium and of course, as expected at just about every gathering one of the topics of discussion is “Do you believe is spirits?” And as usual, after a few moments around the table the finger points to myself and my wife. Why? because we are true believers that spirits live among us in a slightly different realm and we communicate with them. Recently during a dinner party at a friends house as expected, the topic came up. However, this was a little different then I was expecting. Shortly after arriving and getting past the formalities I come to find out the hosts of the party and another invited couple (her anyway) are in fact, true believers. The other young lady brought with her a photo she had taken exposing the glow around her. It was incredible! And let me tell you, she is such a wonderfully gifted person and is missing her calling. Now both the husband and the boyfriend are still in denial and thats OK with their respective partners. As the evening progressed the debate of “Believe it or not” went on for some time. At the end of the evening and after all the discussions, sharing of belief and personal experiences, the fact still remains that unless you open your mind when you have your own encounter you will always be skeptical. As the phrase goes “The mind and a parachute are very much alike, they only work when they are both open” OK, now to answer the question, “What is this thing called Spiritualism anyway” Spiritualism is a religion just like any other religion. We worship and pray just like everybody else and we sing just like everybody else. This is what sets a spiritualist apart from all the rest........ Spiritualism is the Science, Philosophy and Religion of continuous life, based upon the demonstrated fact of communication, by means of mediumship, with those who live in the Spirit World. (1919) A Spiritualist is one who believes, as the basis of his or her religion, in the communication between this and the Spirit World by means of mediumship and who endeavors to mould his or her character and conduct in accordance with the highest teachings derived from such communication. (1914, Rev. 1938) A Medium is one whose organism is sensitive to vibrations from the spirit world and through whose instrumentality, intelligences in that world are able to convey messages and produce the phenomena of Spiritualism. (1914) A Spiritualist Healer is one who, either through one's own inherent powers or through mediumship, is able to impart vital, curative force to pathologic conditions. (1930, 1993) The Phenomena of Spiritualism consists of Prophecy, Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, Gift of Tongues, Laying on of Hands, Healing, Visions, Trance, Apports, Levitation, Raps, Automatic and Independent Writings and Paintings, Voice, Materialization, Photography, Psychometry Voice and any other manifestation proving the continuity of life as demonstrated through the Physical and Spiritual senses and faculties of Humanity. (1950) “Spiritualism Is a Science" because it investigates, analyzes and classifies facts and manifestations demonstrated from the spirit side of life. "Spiritualism Is a Philosophy" because it studies the Laws of Nature both on the seen and unseen sides of life and bases its conclusions upon present observed facts. It accepts statements of observed facts of past ages and conclusions drawn therefrom, when sustained by reason and by results of observed facts of the present day. "Spiritualism Is a Religion" because it strives to understand and to comply with the Physical, Mental and Spiritual Laws of Nature, “which are the laws of God.” Any questions?
